Arizona is seeking to help find a home for the greyhound dogs bred for dog racing. Rescue shelters provide a safe environment and care until the right family comes along. If you find Labrador Retriever puppies in an animal shelter, chances are good that the staff knows little about them. We rescue pugs and provide them medical care, loving attention, comfort, balanced food, companionship, and eventually a loving forever home.

Although many are reluctant to take on an adult dog from adoption, these animals are often the best possible option. Adopting a dog is a big decision. The time of the process (from meeting an animal to finalizing the adoption paperwork) will take longer than it typically does at the ARLGP because we will be processing a high volume of adoptions.

There have been a lot of times when dogs have been removed from their previous homes because they are being mistreated or neglected. Be sure to ask the animal rescue group for a tour of the premises so you can examine the conditions your potential dog has lived in. The conditions of the facilities should also be examined but animal rescue groups aren’t subject to the same type of state or local inspection that a shelter is subject to. Ask the manager or owner of the rescue group if they are incorporated as a non-profit in your state.

As we see it, it is the support of a no-kill policy locally and nationwide when it comes to homeless dogs, promoting spay neuter to help achieve that goal and to place homeless dogs in loving homes who are our natural companions and not disposable trash.
