While there has always been a need for caring and loving people to respond to the needs of helpless and abandoned animals, lately the economic downturns have exacerbated the problem to critical levels. Rescue shelters provide a safe environment and care until the right family comes along. Puppy mills have become a great problem in majority of countries not only due to the lack of proper care provided to the dogs but also the poor conditions they live in. Not all of these animals are vicious or “bad”, some of them are simply paying the price for their owner’s carelessness or disregard.

Many of these animals are scared because of mistreatment and abusive the staff at the centers makes sure they calm the dogs down before attempting to clean or wash the dog. Sick animals can also pose just a much of a threat to public safety as aggressive animals do. In some cases, dog shelters are temporary quarantines for unsafe animals until further action is taken.

Abandoned dogs include both mutts and purebred dogs and puppies. The money goes back into the shelter to care for more animals so it is money well spent. Dog Separation Anxiety is the second most common reason that dogs are sent or returned to shelters. Indeed, good dog shelter adoptions can bring joy to a family.

The ultimate goal of any of these shelters is to find a permanent home for the animals, whether that means returning them to their previous home or finding new adoptive owners. Animal shelters are places where unwanted, stray, or abandoned animals are provided a home, mostly a temporary one, until a permanent home can be found.

The rescue may simply represent the contract as a standard adoption contract which many people believe means they do not need to read it. This is NEVER true. Chihuahuas are small, playful and easy to train dogs, that make perfect apartment pets. The first and best reason is that by adopting a dog you will be saving a life.
