Adopting A Rescue Dog

Adopting A Rescue Dog

People all over the world now keep pets at home, for companionship and unconditional love amongst other reasons. Many people though, when looking for a new pet, prefer to buy from a breeder or pet store rather than adopt. I am about 1 year old and love to play with other dogs. More common though is the formal adoption process whereby pet shelters and pounds have pets that they try to find homes for.

We give homeless, abandoned, and sometimes abused animals a second chance at a healthy, happy life with a caring guardian. A good shelter or rescue organization knows their dogs well and will be able to match a dog to your needs. Hill’s Pet Nutrition will support the campaign by continuing to supply pet food to feed every cat and dog awaiting adoption at the RSPCA.

If an adopted animal and your current pets could not work things out, you might still be approved. Your local Human Society or Pet Rescue also has puppies that are available for adoption. Animals that have been placed in shelters or taken to animal adoption agencies are almost always spayed or neutered and vaccinated.

When people ask “how much does it cost to adopt a dog, they are usually thinking of adopting from a shelter and the prices are different in different places. Adopt-a-Pet has also developed several programs that encourage to adoption such as donation, promotion, volunteering, and TV shows are just a couple of the different ways they use to get in contact with the prospective adopters.

Many of the dogs we take are small dogs and puppies but we also take as many bigger dogs as we have carers for. Pets from shelters often come with a reputation of being difficult to keep and train. Every year more than 6 million cats and dogs are taken in by animal shelters and more than half of these have to be eventually euthanized.
